Nissan ZD30 Timing Mark

CRANKSHAFT PULLEY TIMING MARK ON A NISSAN ZD30

The crankshaft pulley timing markĀ is identified by white paint from factory, however after some time in service this white paint fades and the correct mark becomes indistinguishable from a second but incorrect mark. The white paint mark represents TDC, while the other is used by the pulley manufacturer to assemble the crank pully and the sensor plate.

When the correct mark is aligned with the timing indicator, the incorrect mark will be located 90 degrees clockwise from the correct mark. It is recommended to identify and repaint the correct alignment mark prior to aligning the crankshaft to TDC.
